Heidi Brunk lived in Oakdale as a wife, mother, daughter, music teacher and friend to hundreds. She lost her life tragically in 2008, but her musical enjoyment and passion for teaching lives on in the Heidi Brunk Foundation.

Heidi is remembered for her great smile, beautiful voice, great sense of humor, singing roles in popular local bands, and dedication to musical teachings, friends, family and living life to the fullest.

Created to award students with music scholarships, the Heidi Brunk Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization that raises charitable funds through donations and ticket sales from the Sierra View Music Fest.

In its first year in 2008, the Sierra View Music Fest raised thousands for the Foundation. In the spring of 2009, Jim Brunk awarded the first scholarship to Michael Alstead of Oakdale at the Oakdale High School Heidi Brunk Foundation Music Scholarship ceremony. In 2010 the Heidi Brunk Foundation awarded 4 scholarships to students from Ripon, Escalon and Oakdale, California. In 2011, 5 scholarships were awarded to students who are continuing their education in music including three Oakdale students and 2 students from Modesto Schools.

For 2012 we have set a goal of raising $25,000 for the Scholarship fund. Join us for good times, great music and an effort to give deserving students an Educational Music Scholarship
